Qualifying round on the 30/10/2010 : Lesson on stage and imposed variation with demi-points shoes.
Semifinal on the 30/10/2010 : free variation (out of repertoire) (classical base) points shoes for girls.
Final on the 31/10/2010 : free variation (same as semifinal).
Free variations should not exceed a maximum length of:
1 minute 45 for Debutant and Premiers Pas
2 minutes for Espoir.

ARTICLE VII : Requirement for registration.
Pré-Professionnel, Professionnel
Candidates from these categories should be presented from their school, academy or conservatoire. No spontaneous candidature will be accepted.
Professionnel only
Candidates working in a school, academy or conservatoire located in the Baltic States (Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania) or Scandinavian countries (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Island, Aland, Greenland or Faroe Islands) should go through the contest in Sweden, in order to be selected at Grasse.

ARTICLE VIII : Welcome
Welcome candidates on Friday 29th October 2010 for categories Etude, Supérieur, Pré-Professionnel, Professionnel and Pas de Deux at 9:00am. Rehearsal on stage from 9:30am to 12:30am on the 29th October 2010 (only teachers will be admitted in the auditorium).

ARTICLE X : Trial
Etude:
Qualifying round on the 29/10/2010: Lesson on stage with demi-points shoes and imposed variation (on point shoes for girls).
Semifinal on the 30/10/2010: Adage with demi-points shoes (short skirts authorized) including the following steps obligatorily:
- Tour Promenade (Turn in a walk), Tour Arabesque (Arabesque turn), Tour Attitude (Attitude turn), Developpés, Fondus (Sinking down), Grands-Pliés (choices of first "première", .fourth "quatrième" or fifth positions "cinquième") any dancer executing ’Pas sauté’ (jump) will be disqualified.
Final on the 31/10/2010 : free variation (out of repertoire) (classical bases) with point shoes for girls.
Supérieur :
Qualifying round on the 29/10/2010 : Lesson on stage with demi-points shoes and imposed variation (on point shoes for girls).
Semifinal on the 30/10/2010 : Classical repertoire variation (see list).
Finale on the 31/10/2010 : free variation (classical bases) out of repertoire.
Pré-Professionnel and Professionnel :
Qualifying round on the 29/10/2010 : Lesson on stage and 1st classical repertoire variation on point shoes (Classical repertoire variation must be picked from the list below)
Semifinal on the 30/10/2010 : 2nd classical repertoire variation (Classical repertoire variation must be picked from the list below and different from the qualifying round)
Finale on the 31/10/2010 :
• Out of classical repertoire, modern (points shoes or demi-points shoes) or classical (points shoes)
• AND CLASSICAL REPERTOIRE (the same variation as during semifinal).
Pas De Deux :
Qualifying round on the 29/10/2010 : LES VENDANGEURS (The Grape Pickers), PAQUITA, THE CORSAIR.
Semifinal on the 30/10/2010 : 2nd classical repertoire variation.
Finale on the 31/10/2010 : Free variation (modern or classical) or same variation as presented during the semifinal.
Free variations and adage must not exceed a maximum length of:
2 minutes for ETUDE and SUPERIEUR
2 minutes 30 for PRE-PROFESSIONNEL and PROFESSIONNEL
5 minutes for PAS DE DEUX
1 minute 50 for ADAGE
Classical repertoire variations must be danced and adopted by a great company. It’s formally forbidden to mix up different versions (Give details about your choice on registration form).
Classical repertoire variations must be picked from the list below:

ARTICLE XI : Individual conversation.
Eliminated candidates if they wish, at least in the ETUDE category, may request 10 minutes individual conversation (without parents or teachers) with one of the jury, the morning of the final.
Registration list will be available at the contest reception desk, and should be filled in advance in the evening of the semi-final.
ARTICLE XII : Classe
All candidates from categories Etude, Supérieur, Pré-professionnel, Professionnel and Pas de Deux, still in competition or already eliminated, may participate, free of charge, to a lesson Friday and Saturday at CCD (14 bd Maréchal Leclerc - Grasse) and Sunday morning at the Grasse theater.
ARTICLE XIII: Rewards
Best European young dancer: 500€ (Category Professionnel only)
Gold medal: 300€
Silver medal: 220€
Bronze medal: 120€
The amount of the prices reach 15 245€
Jury price: 400€
Grasse city price: 350€
Regional Council price: 300€
General Council price: 150€
Training course, dance goods
Those amounts are liable to be modified.
Sunday 31/10/2010 afternoon, prices delivery for all categories after the jury’s deliberations.

ARTICLE XIV : Jury
The jury will be made up of very important persons who have a high experience in classic dance matter (Directors, Ballet masters, Lead Dancers, etc...). All decisions will be taken and they are final.
ARTICLE XV: Notation
1. Marking during qualifying round:
PHYSICAL (morphology) 0 to 5.
TECHNIQUE / 20.
ARTISTIC / 20.
These marks are assigned for lessons on stage and imposed variation.
2. Marking of semifinal and final :
TECHNIQUE / 20.
ARTISTIC / 20.
These marks will be given by microphone after each category (for semifinal and final). The total of the marks obtained during the contest will establish the final position and will be published online on our internet site http://www.ballet-med.com.
ARTICLE XVI: Candidates’order
Candidates’ order on stage will be established alphabetically, a draw will define the first letter.
The appeal of candidates will be 15 minutes before the passage of the category. Anyone missing will be eliminated.
ARTICLE XVII: Music
Imposed variation: (Débutant, Premiers Pas, Espoir, Etude, Supérieur) audio CD and DVD video will be sent against the sum of 40€ for France and 50€ for other countries and overseas territories.
Each modification or non respect of the imposed variation will be disqualified.
Free variation, adage and repertoire:
- Candidates must provide at the welcome desk one CD per variation labelled with the name of the candidate, the category and the title(s) of the variation(s) and duration (also specified on the CD). FORESEE double CD
Mention on the registration form « placement on stage and music” or “music before going on stage”.
At the end of each category, the CD must be recovered to the reception desk. CD not recovered will not be passed except against refund of 15€.
ARTICLE XVIII : Registration fees
Registration fees are defined at:
- 49 € for categories Débutant, Premiers Pas and Espoir
- 51 € for categories Etude, Supérieur, Pré-Professionnel, Professionnel.
- 65 € for Pas de Deux
Deadline for registration is on the 15th of October 2010 the postmark as proof . Registration fees are not refund in any case.
No candidate who has not fulfilled the entire fees will take part in the competition.
ARTICLE XX : Liability ARTICLE XXI : Pictures and Videos
Organizer liability will be in any case engaged for any material or corporal injury caused to them or suffered from them (candidates or accompanying adults either during the contest or during travel required by the contest).
Shooting (photos, video, ...) as professional or for profit can be made only with the agreement of the organizing committee. Photos are tolerated on condition that flash is NOT used in order to not disturbing competitors.
Candidates do not have any rights on shooting (television, movie or pictures) done during the contest.
When register to this contest I agree what the "Jeune Ballet Méditeranéen (JBM)" may use eventually my image on various supports of communication.
ARTICLE XXII :
Candidates who have won a gold medal in a category can’t apply in this category anymore. Nevertheless, this candidate can apply to the next category regardless his\her age.
Candidates who have won the Grasse city price are not allowed to continue participating anymore in the contest.
